Meet Jake, one of our new booksellers. Jake's favorite reads are kids books with heart, adventure, and a dash of romance.
Everyone who's ever been a teenager and/or had a body should read this!!! The sweetest, most romantic, uplifting body-positive coming-of-age story you could imagine. I laughed and cried along with Charlie. She's the best, and this book is the best!
A love letter to music, complicated girls, and finding where you're meant to be. Plus, who doesn't want to have their first kiss with a girl at a music festival? Sweet, sad, beautiful--the perfect end-of-summer read (or ANY time!!)!
This book is super popular on TikTok, and for good reason; it's completely worth the hype: gay drama, fake dating, basketball player x cheerleader lesbian romance. And the last scene??? In the gym???? I'm not gonna spoil it, but you MUST read this one for yourself!
A GORGEOUS book, demands to be read aloud. A girl who longs to be a storyteller wakes up before she should on a generation ship headed to a new planet. Mind-blowing, beautiful, jaw-dropping.
This book surprised me in the best way. Two boys, alone in space together, learning to lean on each other for everything. The twist genuinely shocked me, and the ending was more satisfying than I could've imagined. I won't say too much, but I wish I could experience this whole book again for the first time. You're in for such a treat.
Wow wow wow WOW WOW!!! Racquel Marie's debut novel is full of lyrical prose, incredible banter, and Cuban food galore! Ophelia is questioning her sexuality in a way that feels so genuine and caring--this book will be so important for so many queer and questioning teens.
Words cannot even describe how much I love this book! The sweet sapphic first crush text message ENERGY! The three-legged pitbull! Making bad choices but learning from them!! Love love love. Crystal Maldonado is one of my favorite authors!
This book was everything I've ever wanted from a post-apocalyptic novel. It actually discusses what it would be like to be queer, to be *different* at the end of the world. Truly a gorgeous book that will stay with me for a long, long time. Plus, the main characters being described as David and Patrick from Schitt's Creek as teens in the apocalypse doesn't hurt!
If this book had come out when I was 12, I would be going to Amari conventions. It is EPIC!! Supernatural creatures, a summer camp that's not what it seems, and the bravest, coolest protagonist you could imagine. I LOVE Amari!!
Pokemon meets How to Train Your Dragon meets escapist woodland fantasy in this incredible book!! You'll meet a tiny dragon named Mitsy, a not-so-fearsome beast named Root, and a boy who doesn't want to go on an adventure--who goes on one anyway. Love this middle-grade fantasy!
Seaside town, bakers, gays, and first love in this graphic novel that I read in one sitting but have come back to again and again. My heart hurts just writing this review UGH!
If you don't have something pumpkin-flavored to eat while reading this, you might want to get on that ASAP!! This gorgeous, magical graphic novel combines Chinese and Jewish cultures, has an adorable queer romance, and is BEGGING to be read during sweater weather.
Hank had huge shoes to fill, what with John Green being his oldr brother, and BOY did he fill them with something strange and different and totally new. This was the most unusual, exciting, wonderful book I read last year. A blend of sci-fi, new adult romance, and a sprinkle of aliens just for fun.
Who wants to be the princess when you can be the hot dog?! A bisexual summer love story filled with a run-down amusement park, drama, and, yes, a girl in a hot dog suit. You can't go wrong with any of Jenn Dugan's books, though--try Verona Comics as well!
Quite possibly my favorite book of all time--atmospheric, romantic, mysterious. It'll make you want to go to coastal Maine, search for an ancient shipwreck, and fall in love.
