Judy gravitates toward literary fiction. You can tell she’s found a favorite when she can’t stop reading it on the El Diablo patio, even when the rain comes.

Although this book has been out for many years it is still a must-read. Especially since the movie has just debuted. This is the story of Jack, aged 5 who lives with his mother, “Ma” in a small room. His mother was abducted 7 years earlier and has been held captive by “Old Nick.” As difficult this story is to read, it is a story of love, determination and fierce love.
